Growing up in Florida has definitely made me a Disney girl. I’ve mentioned my love for Disney and eagerness to share it with Harlan before, so you can imagine my excitement when Harlan and I were invited to a sneak peek of the re-opening of the Times Square Disney Store.

We’ve been to several events at the Disney Store before and Harlan is always amazed by the overwhelming amount of Mickey, Minnie, and “Princesses” {in her words} the store has. She could spend hours playing at the Princess castle, Mickey’s Clubhouse, or watching her favorite Disney show in the theatre. As if all of this Disney magic wasn’t enough for the store, they have added some extra special pixie dust to its Times Square Location.

The iconic store’s first level has been redesigned to feature more interactive experiences and innovative technology in an effort to capture guest’s imagination the instant they enter the store. The Pixie Trail that was initially on the second level is now on the first level and greets you as you enter the store. The first guests to come to the store as it opens will have the pleasure of experiencing the opening celebration of the store. A very special magical Disney key will be brought down the Pixie Trail and only a child can help unlock the store. “Princess Harlan” had the pleasure of being one of the first children ever to open the store. She even went home with a commemorative key as a keepsake for the special moment.

The Magical Trees have also moved downstairs and now display Disney’s Stores exclusive new fragrance collection, Imagination.

And of course, who could visit the Times Square Disney Store without some NYC Mickey gear!

On your way upstairs you will enjoy one of the most innovative escalator rides. The store has added a new custom-designed 2D animated storytelling feature created in collaboration with Disney Studios. The effort reinforces Disney’s commitment to continue delivering “the best 30 minutes of a child’s day.” Harlan enjoyed watching Winnie the Pooh, the lanterns from the hit “Tangled”, and Tinker Bell starting a firework show.

Upstairs Harlan had a magical time checking out the princess mirror that plays your favorite Disney Princess films through the mirror. All you have to do is wave a princess magic wand and you can see a princess appear before your eyes.

The new Disney Store Times Square was full of Disney magic. One of the most amazing of this innovative store was that all of the new technology is run off of an iTouch. Through the interaction with characters and kid-friendly activities, Harlan was in her Disney oasis.

Disney Store Times Square will debut its newly designed first level with an opening celebration on May 27 at 10 AM after having been closed to the public for two weeks. Radio Disney will broadcast live from the store. The first 500 guests will receive a FREE gift.

{Disclosure: A Mommy in the City was not compensated for this post. I did receive a gift bag for attending.}
