Lauren_076 I’m just days away from becoming a mom of three. Although I am not prepared for the whirlwind that is about to become my life, I am definitely prepared and anxious to hold my first son in my arms.  If there is one thing that I remember about being a new mom, it’s that although it’s a time in your life where you will experience the happiest moments, it’s also a time that you will be pulled to your limits and be tested. The lack of sleep, baby cries, and the craziness of life (especially if you have other kids) can get to you. But in those weak moments, I want to be able to remember the good things. To help myself during those rough times I have created myself a list. It’s already sitting next to my bedside table so that I can easily see it during those late night feedings.

10 Things to Remember About Motherhood:

  1. “The days are long, but the years are short.” -Gretchen Rubin
  2.  You are a good mother.
  3.  You will sleep again.
  4. Take advantage of the all day cuddles because they won’t last forever.
  5. Treasure the moment you are in right now.
  6. You (and your body) are beautiful.
  7. Take time for yourself.
  8. Remember to tell them, “I love you.”
  9. Remember to tell yourself, “I love you.”
  10. It’s okay to ask for help.

I am by no means an expert when it comes to motherhood or being a mom. But I do value the experiences that I’ve had along the way. And I want to use them to help both myself and others.  If one person can learn from my mistakes and successes that I’ve shared in my journey, I am truly grateful. Because of my joy for sharing my experiences (both good and bad,) I am so honored to have been invited to become a part of the Playtex Baby Mom Trust Program. I’ve teamed up with other great moms and dads to share our stories, tips, product reviews, and our journey through parenthood. The Moms Trust Program was created to be a support system for moms and dads. One of the things that I love about the AMITC community is that you (my amazing readers) are always here to offer advice and words of encouragement when I need it the most. The Moms Trust Program will be an extension of that and I look forward to sharing more about it with you over the next year!
