Now that the holidays are over, our family, like many others, are looking for things to do in the city to spend some quality time together and stay out of the cold.
One of our favorite NYC spots is Bryant Park. It is a winter wonderland with a gorgeous centerpiece; Citi Pond. This ice skating rink offers free skating admission and inexpensive skating rental. We have yet to go skating, but Harlan loves to watch everyone skate by on the side.
Not only is free ice skating available at Citi Pond, but every Monday until February 14 they will be celebrating the first ever Winter Film Festival. Enjoy your favorite winter family friendly flicks on a 900 square foot outdoor screen.
Grab your warmest blanket and some hot chocolate and curl up next to the ones you love and experience a movie like you never have before.
If you can’t bear the cold you can enjoy the movie from Celsius restaurant. A glass enclosed two story restaurant that overlooks Citi Pond. We had the opportunity to kick off Winter Film Festival on Saturday at Celsius restaurant.
We munched on some great food and sipped on amazing drinks, all while watching the move Happy Feet out the window. It was the perfect way to spend a Saturday night.
Although Harlan didn’t make it through the entire movie {she did GREAT for a bouncy and hyper 17 month old} we enjoyed our family night out and had some great bonding moments together.
It’s incredible experiences like this that make me love this city even more!
Disclosure: A Mommy in the City was not compensated in any way for this post. My family received free food and drinks while viewing the movie. All opinions expressed are my own.

We had our work holiday party right across from Celsius at the Bryant Park Grill and it is such a lovely area. The skating ring just adds so much to the park. I haven’t been to Celsius but I do want to check it out. Great pics! Harlan is well on her way to being a city kid doing all these cool things! Love it!
