I have a confession to make. I am obsessed with strollers. I am so obsessed that we now have 7. Yep, 7. Since moving to New York City and becoming immersed in the baby gear world, I have become fascinated with all things baby. When we moved here I knew that I needed a new stroller. The one that we had in Tampa would not survive city life, so we left it at my parents house for future visits.
When you live in a city like New York your stroller becomes your car. It is the main mode of transportation for Harlan. Rain, snow, or sunshine, we are outside with our stroller getting to where we need to go. The stroller that I needed had to be lightweight and compact because I knew I would be taking public transportation often {I actually don’t mind it at all} and needed something that was easy to fold and carry.
After reading many reviews we purchased a Maclaren. I am so happy that we did because it has held up through many trips and up and down many flights on stairs getting off and on the subway. When I started watching Harlan’s friend, Dylan, throughout the week I knew that I needed a double stroller to get around the city. I wanted something that would be able to get through a door and that I could easily fold and store in our apartment.
When I was approached to review the Maclaren Twin Techno I jumped at the chance because I was so happy with our Maclaren Four Seasons I was confident that the brand would pull through again with their double. When I first took it out of the box and unfolded it Harlan immediately jumped in. She was so excited to have her new “car” that she sat in it for half an hour watching Yo Gabba Gabba.
Overall the assembly was quite easy, however, one thing I struggled with was attaching the hood to the stroller. I still cannot get the hood to clip on and attach properly. I have read the instructions numerous times and it seems that I am doing it properly, but the clasps become unhooked and the hood falls off. After attempting to get the hood on we picked up Dylan and took it for a spin.
I was impressed at how easy it was to maneuver and get through doorways. I had no trouble opening a door to a restaurant with one hand and pushing the stroller in with the other.
Harlan loved being able to sit next to Dylan and they both seemed to enjoy each other’s company. They were super comfortable and did not ask to get out once {which is a miracle after a long walk around the city.} In fact, Harlan threw a fit when she had to get OUT of the stroller.
The new black on black frame is super sleek and fits right in on the city sidewalks. I also love the big storage baskets on the bottom which and hold all of the junk that I carry with me on our daily outings around the city.
Maclaren Twin Techno Features:
-Basic Weight is 12.2kg/ 26.9lb (without hood, shopping basket or raincover)
-Carrying Capacity up to 30kg/ 110lb (US)
-Appropriate From Birth
-Independent five position recline
-Wheel Size 15.2cm/ 6in
-Two independent square hoods
-Elastisised pockets hold raincovers and mosquito nets
-Large UV protective viewing windows, air vents and sun visors: new design
-Reflective accents for safety at night
The Maclaren Twin Techno my go to stroller for quick trips around the city when I know I will use public transportation. It’s lightweight, portable, and super easy to fold and carry. Maclaren is a brand that I have trusted since Harlan was an infant and I know that it is a brand perfect for any family.

We have the older model Maclaren twin that I bought for my first set of twins 7 years ago. It still looks new even after a second set of twins. It’s the best city stroller, it’s great for the train and it folds so small it even fits in my coat closet.

They really do look so cozy and comfy in that stroller. I’m always curious whenever I see someone pushing a double stroller if it’s heavy at all or hard to maneuver, but glad to know you made it around with no hassle, because in NYC, your stroller IS your car. LOL. But enough about the stroller… I’m totally LOVING the decorative pillows on your couch. Nice!

Oh stroller junkie I love the Maclaren brand in all baby items. Quality just can’t be beat. I never thought it was worth spending big $ on a stroller but after getting a Maclaren my tune has change. Worth every penny

This is the double I had for about the first year of having 2 kids. And I did love it.
But, then I got a Phil & Ted’s e3. Is that one of your 7 strollers? If not, I really recommend checking that one out, too!

Great review!
Maclaren strollers have been around since 1965 and the Maclaren Company is probably responsible for more stroller design breakthroughs than any other manufacturer. The Company’s Founder Owen Maclaren invented the umbrella stroller.
