Smitten for Mittens

This is my first winter living in the city and it has been tough one. Especially coming from a state like Florida where we pretty much have one season a year. January had record snow fall for us here in NYC and with all of this cold weather it has put me on a hunt for some of the best gear to keep Harlan warm.

Because our stroller is our main mode of transportation around the city, Harlan is exposed to the harsh temperatures quite often. I try to layer her up as much as I can before going out and I bundle her up in the stroller but getting her to put mittens on is always a struggle. I have gone out plenty of times without them because I want to avoid the tantrum.

When I first received the 7 A.M ENFANT Baby Mittens the first thing that stuck out about them was the velcro closure. No longer would I have to struggle with Harlan tugging at her arm to put her hand inside a mitten. The flap would help take 15 minutes off of my daily routine to get out of the house in the morning.

My opinion of the mittens really has no effect on what Harlan would think. She really doesn’t like anything on her hands, so I was nervous for her initial reaction. I let her scope them out before putting them on and her immediate reaction was a great big smile to the sparkly pink color. She asked me to put them on her and proceeded to walk around the apartment showing them off to the dogs {her only audience at this point.}

With such a great initial reaction we had no trouble putting them on for our outing for the day. The insulated and fleece lining kept her hands warm throughout the day. Not only was the velcro closure great but the elasticized wrists helped in keeping them on when we were outside.

On the rare occurrence that she did take off one of the mittens, the strap to pull through her coat helped the mittens stay attached to her body without falling on the ground and risk us losing one of them. Another added feature that I love about these mittens is that they are waterproof. So for those wet winter days we have been having so often here they will still manage to keep her hands warm.

With all of the features of these magnificent mittens, not only am I smitten for them, but Harlan is too!
