Rent the Runway: Designer Dresses on a Budget

When I covered the Red Dress Collection Fashion Show last month I knew that I had to have the perfect dress to attend the event. How could I not want to look my best when interviewing great celebrities? I wanted to wear red but had absolutely no red dresses in my closet. The idea of going out to buy a dress that I would probably wear only once didn’t sound appealing to me or my wallet. The bargain side of me searched for ways to find a fabulous dress without having to pay a gut wrenching price. I found the perfect solution for my dress woes when I stumbled upon a website called Rent the Runway.

Rent the Runway is a service that allows you to rent designer dresses and accessories and delivers them right to your doorstep. You can rent amazingly beautiful dresses and pay only 10% of the price. The website is super easy to navigate and allowed me to filter my selections so that I could only see the red dress selection that they had. After falling in love with the Badgley Mischka New York Wonder dress I wanted the perfect earrings to go with it. I have always been really bad with picking out accessories so I contacted one of their stylists who got back to me right away with great suggestions.

One of my favorite things about this service is that it allows you to pick out two dress sizes in case one of them does not fit. Both dresses were couriered to my door on time in a garment bag with instructions on how to return it once I was finished.

I was so excited to wear the dress the night of the event and could not have been happier with my choice. I received so many compliments {even some from the celebs on the red carpet} on the dress and it made me feel so confident {which has been harder since becoming a mom.}

The easiest part of this process was not having to dry clean the dress once I was finished. I simply placed both dresses in the envelope provided and dropped it in the mailbox.

Since using Rent the Runway and getting a firsthand look at their friendly customer service and the simplicity of the entire process, I will never buy a dress for another special occasion. I have so many dresses in my closet that I have only worn once {I’m the type that hates having pictures of me in a dress more than once} and will probably never wear again. Renting a dress allows me to wear high-end designer dresses for a fraction of the price.
