I wasn’t aware of just how amazing the baby industry was until I moved to the city. Moving here has taught me that having a baby doesn’t mean you have to opt for a drab lifestyle. In fact, I feel more fabulous now as a mom than I ever have! There are hundreds of baby items that can help make you and your baby comfortable and stylish!
Last week, Big City Moms, the largest social group for moms, and TheBump.com,teamed up to host the 9th annual Biggest Baby Shower. If you are a new or expectant mom in NYC, this was the “it” party to go to!
Co-Founders Risa Goldberg and Leslie Venouker started this bi-annual event in 2006 to bring together a well-edited list of the best baby products and educators in a fun, social environment.
More than 500 moms-to-be all filled the Intercontinental New York Barclay Hotel to browse and shop the latest and hottest essentials for their modern parenting lifestyle. Top baby brands from all over the country showed off their top gear for both mom and baby.
Delta Children’s Products, a company known for its fabulous nursery furniture and baby gear, gave away this dream nursery to one lucky mom-to-be.
One of my favorite artists and dear friend, Sam Simon, showcased his amazing one of a kind artwork.
Other favorites include Blanqi, who specializes in maternity shapewear. I had a chance to meet the founders behind this brand and they are passionate about everything that they do. New York Cake Pops has long been a favorite of mine with their amazingly delicious treat! BornFree, who makes the only straw cup that Harlan will drink out of. K & J Sun Protective Clothing, this company makes the most adorable baby and toddler shirts with UV protection built in. Suzanne Cohen Photography, who took these amazing pictures featured on this post.
Not only were the pregnant moms able to meet with the leading brands in the baby industry, but they were also able to meet, mingle and learn from industry experts. Alison Bernstein, Senior Editor of TheBump.com shared her must-know tips for surviving (and conquering!) mommyhood. Dr. Alan Greene presented a Green Living with Baby seminar, and Dr. Bill Sears discussed healthy eating habits. Ali Wing, the founder of Giggle, touched upon the topic of baby gear, and Joseph Shamie, President of Delta Children’s Products, offered safe sleeping tips.
And what is an amazing event without an unbelievable gift bag? Every expectant mom went home with gift bags filled with the most fabulous baby products and a new Aprica Stroller!
The Big City Moms Biggest Baby Shower was such a successful event I can’t wait to attend in the Fall!
