Rent the Runway: A Mom’s Dream Closet

The first night that MacKay and I went out on a date after Avery was born was such a bitter sweet moment. I couldn’t wait to get all dolled up and spend a night out with just the two of us. But I remember looking in my closet for something to wear, trying on nearly everything to realize that nothing fit. I was in that “in-between” stage. I couldn’t fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes, but my maternity clothes were way too big on me. I went on our date wearing a maternity dress that I tried to make look “non-maternity” with my post-baby body.

I refused to buy any new clothes because I didn’t want to settle with being a size I was unhappy with. But my “not settling” attitude made my closet empty and left me in a state of sadness. I had places to go with nothing to wear.

Rather than investing in an entirely new wardrobe, I went online and decided to rent new dresses for my nights out on the town. They didn’t come around very often, but when they did I wanted to make sure that I felt my best. Rent the Runway offers so many gorgeous designer dresses for a fraction of the cost. It’s like getting to play dress up without forking out the cash.

I needed a special dress for my brother’s graduation in Florida and thought that this Matthew Williamson dress was perfect! It retails for $875 but you can rent it for $125.

Although I am nearly down to my ideal weight, I still don’t plan on re-stocking my wardrobe. Rent the Runway has helped me build up the confidence that I needed post-baby. They are the perfect addition to my wardrobe!
