What started as a short email asking to come and film my family and interview me a little bit about why I blog, has turned into a lot more than I could have ever imagined.
Last summer Chris Wiegand came to Manhattan as one stop on his trip across the country to film different bloggers. He wanted to see why we did it and how people that live in completely different parts of the country can still connect and build relationships over the internet.
I just finished watching the documentary, American Blogger (released TODAY), and I am now even more proud to have been a part of this film. I think about when I started this blog nearly four years ago when I had just moved to the city. I just started writing and had no idea where it would take me (and frankly I didn’t really care.) But this blog has turned into a community. It’s led me to amazing friendships and even a career that I never imagined I would love so much.
It’s made me vulnerable, open, honest, and scared. But it’s also made me proud, happy, and optimistic. I hope that when you watch this film you can see just how amazing blogging is and how it can mean so many different things to people, yet still have a powerful impact on all of them.
Thank you, Chris, for taking the time to tell this story and letting me and my family be a part of it. It’s a story worth telling and one that’s definitely worth watching.
American Blogger is now available for purchase and I’d love for you to support this film! To purchase, visit the American Blogger website.
