Tuesday was the first day I was on my own with all three kids and back in our normal routine. Har has been off of school for the past two weeks for spring break and while I had all three by myself for the majority of the break, it’s much different when I can keep all three confined within the walls of our apartment. Having to get them dressed, ready to go, and out the door is a completely different entity.
Although we don’t have to be out of the door until 12:15, I started getting them ready at 8am. Yes, four hours before we actually had to step out of the door. I wanted to have them dressed and ready long before we actually had to leave.
By the time 12:15 rolled around, all three kids were dressed, fed, and I even had time to take a shower and get some work done. I far exceeded my expectations that morning and I was so proud of myself walking all three to school. It was definitely a little victory.
The day ended with major tantrums and a baby that wouldn’t sleep (you should have seen me trying to hold a screaming Harlan and crying Macks at the same time) which had me ready for MacKay to get home from work so I could have a few minutes to myself, but deep inside I was still so proud of myself for all that I had accomplished that day.
It’s these little accomplishments that I celebrate throughout my crazy and hectic day that has me so proud to be a part of Bravado’s #LittleVictories campaign.
#LittleVictories is inspired by breastfeeding moms and the real moments that they share. Becoming a mother is a life-changing time that can be both rewarding and challenging. The Little Victories that we have throughout our day come from finding comfort in the accomplishments we make, both big and small. Bravado’s #LittleVictories campaign underscores its ongoing commitment to all mothers – recognizing that comfort and confidence lead to success.
There is no denying that my life is a constant juggle, with working from home and raising three kids in the city. I was honored when Bravado Designs asked me to share some of my Little Victories around my day.
Bravado recently conducted a survey of more than 1,000 new and expectant mothers in the United States and found that only 8% of moms are extremely satisfied with their ability to manage the multiple demands of their lives. My life is not perfect, by any means, but this is incredibly heartbreaking statistic to know.
Take a look at my reaction to this statistic and how I celebrate the Little Victories.
