Life is starting to settle down here in the suburbs and I must say that I am quickly falling in love with our lifestyle. Of course it doesn’t hurt that the weather has been absolutely perfect since we’ve been here.
I was worried about moving here over the summer, not knowing anyone, and how I would keep all three kids busy during the day while I tried to get work done. Little did I know that it’s the simple things that can keep them entertained for hours.
Most of our time spent during the week is outside in our backyard. It’s the perfect spot for me to sit and enjoy my cup of coffee while the girls play, Macks relaxes, and the pups hang out.
I hate to admit this, but when we lived in the city, most of the time the girls either sat watching TV or played on the iPad while I got my work finished. It was after that I could get all of us dressed and ready to go out the door for a fun activity. Thankfully we can all go outside in our pajamas for some fun with no technology needed.
Now the girls love playing ball, riding their scooter, and even climbing the tree in the backyard.
I’ve also really gotten in to grilling since we’ve moved. I think I’ve cooked nearly every single dinner on our grill. I don’t know how I did without one for four years. The food tastes so much better when cooked on the grill.
Whether I’m working or getting dinner ready, I try to keep Macks entertained and occupied. He’s just getting to the age when we can put him in an activity jumper, but because he’s not so stable sitting up, he prefers to lay down to play. I was just putting him on a blanket on the deck, but the pups always came and licked his face and I got nervous with the girls playing with the ball so closely to him.
