I feel so very fortunate that I get to spend my days watching my kids grow. When MacKay and I made the move from Tampa to Manhattan that was one of our main goals. We knew that it would take major sacrifice for both of us, but being able to be a stay-at-home mom was a top priority no matter what we had to lose with it.
Now nearly five years into it, I can tell you that with all of the sacrifices and challenges along the way, there are so many more moments filled with adventure, firsts, and discoveries. I’ve been there for the first words, first steps, first day of school. I’ve watched as the magic of New York City revealed itself during a daily adventure around the city. Or as they saw the garbage man come and pick up the trash from our driveway for the very first time (it was super exciting for these city girls.)
Just last week, Macks discovered the his little feet are so much fun to play with. Two weeks ago I watched as he rolled over for the very first time. He’s noticed that if you put things in front of him, he can quickly grab it and bring it to his mouth.
I cannot imagine doing anything better with my life than what I get to do every single day with my three children as I watch them flourish. I’m so excited to be on this journey with then as they go through life making more discoveries on their own.
