Five years ago I sat down at my computer and started writing. I was writing to friends and family about our new life in the city. It was a life full of new beginnings for our family and for me. Little did I know that five years ago, after sharing my love of Manhattan and our new life, that this would become a place that I know go to to find solace and comfort. To share my family, the ups and downs of motherhood, and things that just make me happy. Little did I know that I’d find you, yes YOU, this community that is so supportive and loving. That makes me feel comfortable being me.
With this new year, comes new changes for A Mommy in the City. First thing is that A Mommy in the City is closing this chapter. The blog will still be here and the content will remain the same, but it will have a new name. I’ve felt that I’ve outgrown the name for quite a while and feel like I just need to start fresh. The new name is still in the works, but it will still reflect me.
Soon you will see changes on social media. My Instagram and Twitter account will soon switch to my name, @laurenjimeson. My Facebook URL will still be the same, but will be switched to the new blog name. I’m going to keep amommyinthecity.com and for a while it will redirect to the new site, so you can keep typing it in and it will still take you to me. 🙂
I don’t have a specific date as to when the re-brand and re-design will launch as we are still in the very early stage, but I will keep you updated along the way! I’m so excited for these changes and all that will come with it!
I am forever grateful for A Mommy in the City and all that it has brought me. Now it’s time to see what the next chapter will bring. Thanks again for your unwavering support. You really have no idea how much it means to me.
