Celebrating New York K.I.D.S. Day with Big City Moms

Last year New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg established “K.I.D.S. Day,” a celebration of the joy that both children of means and children in need share together. Last weekend our family was able to celebrate K.I.D.S. Day with Big City Moms at a good old fashioned carnival.

The carnival, which benefitted K.I.D.S., a non-profit organization donating goods to underprivileged and disaster-struck children, was a chance for our family and other NYC families to come together and celebrate children. The room was filled with bouncy castles, clowns, cotton candy, games and more. Harlan had a great time dancing to her favorite music group, Little Maestros.

She also had a blast seeing her best friend, Elmo, who she only wanted to see from afar {we are still getting used to characters in costumes.}

We were treated to a puppet show from the off broadway children’s musical, ImaginOcean.

To close the carnival, {my husbands personal favorite} Kicking Daisies, rocked out with their hit songs that are featured on Radio Disney.

Big City Moms did an amazing job {as always} putting on this event. Not only did Harlan have a great time hanging out with kids from our neighborhood, but it was a great way to teach her to give back at an early age.
