Yo Gabba Gabba was the first television show that Harlan started watching. I don’t know if it was the catchy music, bright and lovable characters, or the always enthusiastic DJ Lance, but something caught her eye and she’s been hooked ever since.

On Sunday Harlan and I had the pleasure of seeing her favorite show live. I don’t know who was more excited, her or me.

I told her about the show last Wednesday as a way to get her excited, but I had no idea she would wake up every single morning after that asking if that was the day we were going to see Yo Gabba Gabba. I was thrilled on Sunday morning to tell her that it was the day that we were going to see them live on stage.

She insisted on wearing her Foofa socks and bringing her Foofa doll as well as her Yo Gabba Gabba books along with her. She was Gabba’d out and ready to go!

When the show started Harlan did not sit down once. Her excitement overcame her and she was ready to dance.

She danced away and sang through some of her favorites, like Party in My Tummy {which had all the fruits and veggies on stage,} Freeze Game, and All My Friends are Different, which had special guest Leslie Hall.

One of my favorite parts of the show was when Biz Markie came out on stage for “Biz’s Beat of the Day.” He had several kids on stage trying to mimic his beat boxing which was the cutest thing ever. The best part was when he went back to his DJ Table and put on a great mix of music that only the parents would love and appreciate. The entire audience was on their feet dancing to his version of “Just a Friend (You Got What I Need.)”

After the show we had a chance to meet the characters, have our own dance party with Leslie Hall, and story time with DJ Lance Rock and Leslie Hall!

{Notice Harlan in the purple sweater dancing along}

{DJ Lance gave Harlan and high five before story time}

Harlan had such a great time that she made it very clear to me she didn’t want to leave.

She screamed cried for the next twenty minutes asking for DJ Lance. He was the only one that she would go to without me that day. He even gave her a kiss on the cheek and she gave him the biggest hug before he gave her back to me. I think she has a little crush.

So cute -‘cept for the gabba-withdrawal symptoms.

Will have to take my son next time they’re in town, he’s a big fan!

So jealous! Laura would be in heaven at a Yo Gabba Gabba show. I personally love the Balloon song. Balloons, balloons, balloons make me happy!

my son would be in baby heaven!!! He loves that show. We took him to see Elmo some months ago and that was quite the experience. I can imagine taking him to this show would make him lose his baby marbles!
