“I highly doubt I will see you next week in the office.” Those were the wise words from my doctor as I left her office on Monday. Normally I would be very excited to hear those words come out of her mouth, but sadly she said the same thing last week and alas I still had to go. It’s now Wednesday and this baby boy is giving no signs that he is ready to see the world.
That’s right, baby boy Jimeson is proving himself to be quite the mama’s boy already and is quite comfortable in his current state. While I’m trying not to get too down on myself and realize that he will be here before I know it, it’s hard when time literally feels like it’s standing still.
Even though I am am anxiously awaiting to hold him in my arms, I am still enjoying every last second with my girls. I’ve been trying to keep myself busy and occupied by keeping them busy. One things for sure is that these ladies always know how to make life lively and entertaining! It’s been brutally cold here in NYC with most days feeling like it is in the negatives. On those days that it does “warm up” (never would this Florida girl have thought that 30 degree weather was warm, but it is pleasantly welcomed after some of the temperatures we’ve experienced lately,) we try to get outside and enjoy the fresh air. Cabin fever comes quickly during the winter, especially living in a small apartment. Harlan doesn’t seem to mind the cold, but Avery isn’t the biggest fan.
Rather than building a snowman outside in the real snow, she would much rather stay inside and build one of her own.
Har has really been into arts and crafts lately, so I’m trying to let her get down and dirty and get some of that creative energy out.
And once again, Avery would rather get her energy out indoors. She found Harlan’s helmet and scooter while she was at preschool and began riding it up and down our hallway. I’m sure our neighbors downstairs were the least bit amused, but she did look cute doing it. 🙂
Harlan gets giddy with excitement when she sees the snow falling. Even though it’s becoming a regular occurrence lately, she still thinks of any excuse for us to take her outside so she can see it and play in it. I love her adventurous spirit.
She also loves for me to play with her hair. Her current favorite ‘do is a braid “like Elsa wears in Frozen.” I am by no means a hair stylist but am having fun playing one. 😉
With lazy days inside comes lazy apparel. MacKay puts on his robe every morning to read the paper and the girls wanted to join in with him. I love this look that they have on their faces. Who knows what they are thinking, but they sure thought it was funny.
As with every other child out there right now, the Frozen soundtrack has played about a million times in our house. The girls love to dress up as Anna and Elsa and put on a musical performance.
The other night I went into kiss the girls before I went to bed and found them both in Harlan’s bed. When Har woke up she told me that they were having a “slumber party” and that she wanted Avery to sleep with her “a thousand times” because it was so much fun. Love them so much.
I had a craving for Rice Krispies treats and the girls happily obliged in helping me make them.
I’ve been really trying to take both of the girls out on individual dates as much as I can before the baby gets here and thankfully he is giving me plenty of time to do it. Ms. Girly Girl Harlan went with me for a pedicure and manicure and loved all of the attention she was getting. This girl will always go for getting pampered.
I am continuously thankful for Har and A and the joy that they bring me everyday. They always make life entertaining which makes this waiting game so much more bearable.
Thanks, girls.
