It’s Wednesday! That means it’s time for you to tell me something good. Tell me one moment (big or small) that put a smile on your face.

Harlan has been struggling a little bit recently with reading. She gets frustrated when she can’t sound out a word correctly and just wants to give up. MacKay and I have been working diligently with her to not only help her relax, but learn to love reading the way she used to. The good news is, it’s been working! Just the other night she brought The Giving Tree into my room and told me she just wanted to read the first few pages of the book because after that the book gets too hard for her to read. Avery and I sat in my bed with her and watched her read those first few pages, then as she turned the page to the longer paragraphs I told her to just keep going for a bit. Long story short, she read the entire book with minimal help from me. The smile on her face when she finished will forever be engrained into my mind. It was priceless.

Now tell me something good. Something that’s made you happy. It can be big, it can be small, just something that has put a smile on your face. You can participate by sharing a photo on Wednesday with the hashtag #WhyImHappyWednesday and tagging me @amommyinthecity or feel free to write it in the comments below. I do read them all and am happy to reply back on your good news! You can also join in the conversation on my Facebook page!
