Macks was up last night from 2:30am until 7:30am (right when we needed to get up and get everyone ready for the day.) He’s had a bad case of eczema lately that’s been making him irritable and last night it was at its worst.
As I put him in the bed next to me, it brought me back to those newborn days when it was just the two of us up in the wee hours of the morning. The house is quiet and dark and everyone else is sleeping except for the two of us. While it’s not ideal to be up in the middle of the night for that long (and I’d much rather be sleeping,) it’s nice to have this quiet time with Macks when all he wants to do is cuddle.
Last night he just kept grabbing my hand and putting it into his while he laid next to me. I’d close my eyes and he would come close just to give me a kiss. An intimate moment between the two of us that I don’t get with him very often anymore. And as much as I love the stage that we are in now, I do miss those days. Thankful that he gave me a bit of that last night with lots of extra love and cuddles.
That’s what makes me happy.
Now tell me something good. Something that’s made you happy. It can be big, it can be small, just something that has put a smile on your face.
