I love getting to spend long weekends with my family. Everything just seems so much more relaxed and not like we are rushing to get everything done in one day and then left with only one family fun day.

MacKay was out of town for a business trip for the first part of the weekend so the girls and I had some time for ourselves. I enjoy when it’s just the three of us because we make sure to have a fun and exciting girls days.

Harlan is really into arts and crafts lately. We made a some snowflake garland for Christmas time and since Valentine’s Day is coming up next month we decided to make heart garland to hang in our hallway. She loved trying to cut them out. She’s not perfect at it, but she loves to do anything she can with a pair of scissors.

Later that night it was all about having fun. We cuddled.

Indulged in some pizza. (It was Avery’s first time eating pizza and this girl scarfed down an entire slice!)  photo 3-1

Watched a movie and made funny faces. photo 4-1

And then Harlan and I had a slumber party in my bed. I always love when she gets to sleep with me. She’s the best cuddler ever!  photo 5

The next morning we went out for donuts and came back to play and relax until MacKay arrived back home. The girls had some intense conversations that morning. All over figurines.  photo 1

Sunday was an extra special day for us. It was a day for Avery. Avery was baptized at our church here in NYC. We got Harlan baptized in Tampa when she was only a few month old. I was so scared that Avery was going to freak out in front of everyone seeing that she is nearing a year old and very aware of who she knows and who she doesn’t. photo 3

She was perfect during the entire ceremony. Went straight to our Pastor and was even hamming it up for the congregation. Every time the pastor would ask us a question we had to respond with “yes” or “we will.” Avery  knows that when she hears yes she has to nod her head. So you can imagine what she was doing after every single question that the Pastor asked us. It was very cute.

Sunday night Harlan and I went on a little date to her favorite store, Bloomingdales, for a little shopping spree. Harlan asks to go every single weekend. I’m not even exaggerating.  photo 2

MacKay’s sister is in town, so Monday was all about sight seeing. We hit up the Met and checked out some of their amazing exhibits. This was Avery’s first time at a museum and she loved every minute of it. She’s started to point at things now and was pointing at everything. vscocam110
