It’s beginning to look and feel a lot like fall here in New York City. This is by far my favorite season to be in the city.

Living in Florida most of my life, I never had the opportunity to experience the season’s change. It went from warm to hot to warm to hot. There really wasn’t much in between. Now we are very fortunate to be able to experience all that each season has to offer.

As the weather has started to cool down, the leaves are starting to change into the beautiful orange color that turns all of New York City into a picturesque city. Harlan is learning about fall in preschool and loves to point out that the leaves are falling and changing color. She’s embracing as much of this beautiful season as she can.

This weekend was one of the first weekends in a while when we really had nothing to do. We could finally relax and get out and enjoy the city as a family. Saturday afternoon we headed over to the west side for a little mini session with Lindsey Belle of Lindsey Belle Photography. Lindsey and I found each other in Instagram and became fast friends. She has an adorable daughter, Stella, that is Avery’s age, so we’ve bonded over that many times.

Lindsey invited our family over to Riverside Park for a little mini session to capture our family enjoying this gorgeous season.

Of course she made the girls as comfortable as possible and they had no problem letting loose in front of the camera.

I’ll show you more of our session with Lindsey soon! I can’t wait to see them myself.

Sunday afternoon was also spent in front of the camera, but over in our neighborhood. I’ve started to do some style posts over at Babble, and MacKay is kind enough to take the photos for me. While we were outside shooting, Harlan wanted to get in front of the camera for another little mini shoot of her own.

She was her girly girl self in front of the camera and I think these photos captured her personality perfectly.

She also wanted the chance to get behind the camera and insisted on taking photos of me and MacKay. I was really impressed by how many of them turned out.

Now she’s asked for her own camera for Christmas. Future photographer in training? 🙂

Hope you all had a great weekend!

I love seeing children’s photos of their parents because it really demonstrates their perspective. It is interesting to see how they see us. And yes, it is amazing at how good they are with a camera!

Looks like you have a mini photographer on your hands. Love how much Harlan’s personality shows through in pictures. She seems so bubbly and in love with life!
