After living in Florida for nearly my entire life, I don’t think I ever truly appreciated the warm weather. That was until I moved here and realized that the winters here are COLD! And they’ve called this season “mild.” So when I have the opportunity to get out of the cold and into the warm sun, I take it.

I am so excited to tell you that for the next seven days my family and I will be exploring the Caribbean on the Royal Caribbean International Cruise line! We couldn’t be more ecstatic to get out of this cold dreary weather an into the sunlight.

The last time that I went on a cruise was spring break circa 2006 when I was a senior in college. So you can only imagine how that went dow

Yes, I was incredibly tan from that cruise. And skinny. And blonde.

This time will be much different, but I’m excited for the new experience.

Harlan is thrilled because we have a chance to check out Royal Caribbean’s new Barbie Premium Experience. Our stateroom will be decked out in Barbie gear, Harlan gets to have a Tiara & Teacups Party, and even play dress up in the very exclusive Barbie Fashion show.  barbie

We also get a chance to check out everything that Royal Caribbean has to offer (including their nursery room so that I can have some “me” time.)

If you want to follow along on our cruise adventures, follow the hashtag #BarbieatSea on Twitter and Instagram! I’ll also be updating here on AMITC and at Babble!

{Disclosure: I was invited on this cruise by Royal Caribbean. All airfare and cruise accommodations were provided by Royal Caribbean. All opinions expressed are my own.}

I’ve been on a few Royal Caribbean cruises, but none since I had my son. I was afraid that there wouldn’t be enough on the boat for a toddler to enjoy and that I would spend most of my time worrying about him getting into trouble (open pools) and that all of his stuff would overtake our cabin. I’m reassured to see from your Tweets that you are pulling it off successfully with a toddler and a baby. I’m starting to reconsider my fear of kids at sea!

It’s definitely fun for the entire family! I’m planning a few posts on the entire trip on both her and Babble! It was so much fun!
