New York Fashion Week took the city by storm last week as top designers showed off their Spring 2014 collections to thousands of patrons in the fashion industry. Although all of the other shows at NYFW had models show off their fashions on the runway, only one show had real moms strutting their stuff.
Strut, The Fashionable Mom Show, presented by The Moms, Denise Albert and Melissa Musen Gerstein, and SWW Creative, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff took over New York Fashion week for the third year and this time did it for a fashionable cause. Every mom that took the runway walked for a charity of her choice.
Backstage at the show was just like any fashion show. Ladies getting beautified in the hair and makeup chairs and general chaos as everyone prepares for their runway debut.
In the audience you had celebrities, including Amare Stoudemire, of the New York Knicks, and CC Sabathia, of the New York Yankees, who were all smiles as they watched their wives and children walk the runway.
And my favorite disc jokey, DJ Fulano, gave us some amazing music during the show.
I attended Strut on behalf of the show sponsor, Whirlpool, as a Whirlpool ambassador. I loved seeing my fellow Whirlpool ambassador moms strut down the runway in their gorgeous red dresses. They looked absolutely radiant in red.
I couldn’t have been more excited to attend on behalf of Whirlpool. With another one on the way, we’ve been looking a lot at different suburban towns around the city, which means that I get a house with real appliances like a washer and dryer! I can’t wait to tell you about the new washer and dryer Whirlpool just released. (I’m not going to lie, it had me giddy with excitement with all of the amazing features.)
A big thank you to Whirlpool for inviting me to the show! Stay tuned for more on the newest from Whirlpool…..
{Disclosure: I attended Strut on behalf of Whirlpool as a Whirlpool Ambassador. As always, all thoughts and opinions are completely my own. And so is the excitement for this washer and dryer. 😉 }
