When I was pregnant with Harlan and registered for all of our baby gear, I really didn’t put much thought into what stroller we were going to get. We lived in the suburbs and knew that the stroller didn’t need to be our biggest focus in baby gear. We ended up registering for a cheap travel system that fit the needs of our lifestyle.

Of course as soon as Harlan was born was when we found out that we were moving to New York City. Suddenly everything that we purchased for our brand new baby was beginning to look very impractical for our new life in the big city. Because MacKay moved up before we did, I had plenty of time to check out our baby needs while visiting him.

One of the first things that I noticed when visiting was the vast amounts of strollers that invade the streets of New York City everyday. New Yorkers with kids don’t have minivans or SUVs to tote their kids around, they invest their money in strollers that will fit their needs. Because in New York City, your stroller is your car.

I have been very lucky to have the opportunity to test out many strollers since we’ve made our move to New York City. While I don’t think that there can be one stroller to fit all of our needs as city dwellers, there is one stroller that I have fallen absolutely head overs heels for.

If you’ve seen my Instagram feed or even the photos that I post here on the blog, you can see on our many adventures out in the city Avery and Harlan are using the Orbit Baby G2 Stroller System. I’ve used it since Harlan was a toddler and all throughout Avery’s life. We’ve traveled with it on airplanes, taken it on the subway, throughout the city, Disney World, and even with us on our cruise we went on at the beginning of the year. This stroller has become a part of our everyday lives and our family.

With my fondness over the Orbit Baby brand, they were nice enough to invite me out to Las Vegas last week to attend the ABC Kids Show, the largest trade show for the juvenile products industry. Many of you know my obsession with the baby gear world, so this show was something I was really excited to attend to get a first hand look at some of the brand new baby products that will hit stores in 2014.

Orbit Baby debuted the brand new G3 Stroller System at the show and I couldn’t have been more excited to check it out. I was lucky enough to have Joseph Hei, co-founder and Chief Product Officer of Orbit Baby, give me a run down on all of the new features of the new Orbit Baby G3.

Much like a car, the Orbit Baby G3 is completely customizable to fit your wants and needs. I love all of the new color options available to choose from!

I, personally, am a fan of the all black (surprise surprise coming from a New Yorker, right?) Don’t be surprised if this is how you see us strolling the streets of NYC when our new little guy is born. Both girls on the Sidekicks and baby boy in the Orbit Baby G3 car seat!

Along with all of these amazing new additions, the Orbit Baby G3 still has many of the great features that the stroller system is known for; allowance for the addition of the Sidekick Stroller Boards on both sides of the stroller, the ability to dock and rotate both the infant and toddler car seat on the same car seat and stroller base, the one-handed stroller fold, and (my favorite feature) your child’s ability to see the world in 360 with the 360 degree rotation of the seat. As always, all of Orbit Baby’s products are clean, green, and BFR-free.

The all new Orbit Baby G3 is due to hit stores in early 2014! You can check out the Orbit Baby website for more information on all of their products.

{Disclosure: Orbit Baby sponsored my hotel and accommodations to attend the ABC Kids Expo. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that help me help my family!}

Great review! It’s great to hear that the Orbit has been all over with you, even a cruise ship! However for readers that haven’t heard yet, I wanted to also mention one additional very cool feature of the Orbit that you did not mention. I LOVE that the Orbit strollers can be adapted from a single, to a double stroller with the Double Helix expansion kit — and because it’s a double front to back, you’ll still be narrow enough to walk the crowded streets of NYC. It’s perfect if Avery isn’t quite ready to ride on the kickboards all day long. Plus — the new oversized storage bins underneath are a dream. Go Orbit!

Yes! I haven’t actually tried the Double Helix yet, but have only heard great things about it. So nice that it can easily convert. I’m hoping to be able to get away with just a single stroller when the new baby comes, but it might not be very practical given how small Avery still is. 🙂

Howdy!
We LOVE our Orbit Baby as well! 🙂 and have traveled with it tons.
Babe is just at the age to be ready for the Toddler Carseat, which we bought in a G2…
Do you know if Toddler Stroller Seat is coming out in the G3 version!? 🙂
Thanks!

I believe it is. The G2 Toddler car seat will also be compatible with the G3 stroller.

We currently have the double helix. We were wondering if you knew if the new stroller seats (I guess it would be a G3 stroller seat) is going to be compatible with the double helix stroller frame? We are trying to decide if we should purchase a stroller seat now or hold out until the new one is released. I would prefer to wait for the new model, but if its not going to fit….we would have to buy the current and almost out-dated stroller seat.
