PicMonkey Collage1 Just two years ago on a Sunday morning I was sitting in a hospital room here in New York City giving birth to my second baby girl. Much like her sister, Avery came fast and easy and was ready to take on the world.

It’s so hard to believe that my Little A is two years old today. I know it sounds so cliche, but this year has flown by so quickly. It’s incredible to look back and see how much Avery has grown throughout the year. She’s gone from being my baby to a little girl and a BIG sister!

PicMonkey Collage2 Her personality has sprouted this year. She loves to talk and especially loves to make you laugh. She’s the “class clown” of our family. There is never a dull moment with Avery around. From dancing and “shaking her booty” to putting on a crazy outfit to perform a show, this girl adores being the center of attention (and we love giving it to her.)

Avery has become so unbelievably close to Harlan. I really cannot describe how incredible it is to watch their relationship. There are days when I can just sit back and watch the two of them interact with one another and before I know it I have a huge grin on my face because watching them makes me so happy.

While Harlan took the role of nurturer with Avery during her first year, Avery has now taken part in that too. If she sees Harlan upset in the least she will make sure to ask her if she’s okay and go up and give her a big hug. They love each other so much.

PicMonkey Collage3 I love being able to watch Avery discover new things. She’s always pointing something out and telling us to look. The littlest things can bring her so much joy!

And it’s that joy that she exhibits everyday that carries over to everyone around her. In these short two years, Avery has taught me to take on everyday with a positive attitude and a smile. There is rarely a time that you will ever see this girl without a grin on her face. A grin that is contagious and heart warming.

PicMonkey Collage4 I am so excited to see what the year brings for Little A. I know she will continue to be the best big sister to Macks, Har’s right-hand lady, all while being a funny and independent little girl.

Thank you, Avery, for blessing my life with so much love and joy. You are truly a gift from God that I cherish every single moment of the day.

I love you, A. Happy Birthday sweet girl.
