One of the many reasons the girls are excited for the school year to start is because they get to shop for all new school supplies. Harlan has been asking about getting a backpack and lunchbox since the beginning of summer. This is the first year that she is able to bring a backpack to school with school supplies. Her preschool in Manhattan had everything provided at the school, kindergarten is an entirely new ball game for us.
Avery is at preschool three days a week and has both snack and lunch at school. She doesn’t necessarily bring her backpack to school to carry school supplies, but I thought it would be a good idea to help her carry a sweater and a comfort item if she needed it.
Pottery Barn Kids was an ideal choice for picking out the girls backpacks and lunch boxes. They offer a variety of colors and patterns in many different sizes and styles. They are durable and provide plenty of room and comfort for the girls as they head off to school.
It was so fun to get the girls involved in picking out their backpacks and lunch boxes because it got them even more excited for school to start.
This one was out of focus but I couldn’t help but share it because this smile describes her personality perfectly. She is such a love girl.
Avery has the Mackenzie Plum Unicorn Mini Backpack which is perfect for her little figure. It can hold her lamby and bunny and some figurines that she loves to play with. I adore this pattern that she picked out. We also paired it with the all-in-one lunch bag which has the bento style stainless steel food box inside. I recently purchased the Weelicious Lunches book and am so excited to try fun recipes for the girls’ lunches.
Har’s current obsession is peacocks and she was so excited when she saw the Mackenzie Navy Peacock Small Backpack. She’s been pretending to go to school everyday since receiving it. As much as it makes me want to cry, I can’t wait to see her walk into her kindergarten classroom and do it for real.
Let the school year begin!
