Last night I listened to the girls stay up until well past their bedtime. I put them to bed on time, however because they share a room, it means it’s nearly impossible for both of them to actually go to bed on time.
While they were up, they didn’t come running out of their room asking for things like they usually do. This time, they sat in their room giggling and talking. I didn’t hear all that was going on, but it was pretend talk and saying things to make one another laugh.
I peeked in on them when I was getting ready for bed and saw the mess of dress up clothes that they’d managed to get out and throw around. We’d just cleaned their room before they went to bed.
But rather than getting upset for them being up and not going to bed, I sat in my room while listening to them chatter. I listen to it all day, but this time it was different. This time is showed the power of the relationship they have. It showed the comfort that they take in one another. It showed just how much they trust one another. It showed the love that they hold together.
That’s what makes me happy.
