Part of the reason that I love the summer with the kids is that our daily routine is generally thrown out the window. It’s always a go-with-the-flow type of attitude. While we’ve been at my parents house, Macks has slept with me, while the girls have slept in the guest bedroom together.

Each night as I lay in bed with Macks to go to sleep, he snuggles up as closely as he can next to me. He will look up at me and tell me that he wants to cuddle while giving me a kiss. Last night, as we were falling asleep, he’s got his arm wrapped around me and looks up to me and says, “I love you, Mommy.”

Even with all of his craziness during the day, he’s become quite the affectionate little boy.

That’s what makes me happy.

Now tell me something good. Something that’s made you happy. It can be big, it can be small, just something that has put a smile on your face. We’re still at my parents house in Florida and the kids are having the time of their lives. We’ve been outside in the pool everyday, laughing and having the best time. It’s moments like this with my family that I really cherish. It’s hard not having them close by in Connecticut, so I make sure to soak up every single second I have while I’m here.

Last night, while I was putting Avery to bed she asked me if she could live at my parents house forever. I am so thankful that she feels that way while she’s here.

That’s what makes me happy.

If it’s summer, the chances that you will see me in a dress are very high. They are comfortable, easy to put on, and make running around three kids rather simple. Adding to my obsession for dresses is the off the shoulder trend. I’m afraid that I’m buying too much of this trend, but I can’t deny how flattering it is for nearly everyone.

This denim dress has quickly become my summer favorite. I’ve worn it by the pool, to a cocktail party, and even just out running errands with the kids. You can wear it with sandals or even with some wedges if you want to dress it up.

I know summer is coming to an end, but we still have a few more months of warm weather, so why not take advantage of it by adding more dresses to your wardrobe?!
