It’s Wednesday! That means it’s time for you to tell me something good. Tell me one moment (big or small) that put a smile on your face. Let’s spread some positivity!

Yesterday our Elf on the Shelf, Alfie, came to visit for the month. He wrote the kids a little note to say that he’s excited to be here. It wasn’t his arrival that made me happy (I’ve got to move the darn elf every night ;), ) It was Harlan reading the note he wrote that made me happy. At the beginning of the year Har struggled a bit with reading. While her teacher assured us she was right on track, it was at home when I saw her get frustrated every night that had me so sad as her mom. But as we’ve spent time each night reading so many books, I’ve seen her grow into this great reader that actually enjoys reading to all of us. She’s now reading everything she can and it brings a smile to my face every time. Last night we were FaceTime-ing (is that a word?) with my dad and she read him her bedtime story. I love seeing how far she’s come in this short time and her eagerness to read. That makes me happy.

Now tell me something good. Something that’s made you happy. It can be big, it can be small, just something that has put a smile on your face. You can participate by sharing a photo on Wednesday with the hashtag #WhyImHappyWednesday and tagging me @amommyinthecity or feel free to write it in the comments below. I do read them all and am happy to reply back on your good news! You can also join in the conversation on my Facebook page!
