Macks had his two and a half year doctor visit last week. As always, the doctor asks questions to see how he’s doing developmentally.

“Is he intereted in the potty?” he asked.

“If you consider taking off his diaper and peeing in the floor interested, then yes, he’s interested,” I answered with a laugh.

The truth is, he’s not quite ready to make the leap into being fully potty trained. He does tell me that he wants to go to the potty and will sit down, but ultimately nothing ever happens. He will get off of the potty two seconds later and then happily pee on the ground. He’ll get there. I know he will.

While he’s not ready to make that jump just yet, I’m making sure that I’m making the most of his cues. He’s always taking off his diaper and handing it to me. He’s mentioned getting big boy underwear just like his sisters’ have. I know that getting him underwear isn’t the right decision for us know, so I’ve compromised with him (which is not an easy thing with a two year old.) Pampers recently released their new Easy Ups Training Underwear. What I love about them is that they look and feel more like underwear than a diaper, but have the protection that Pampers diapers have given our family for seven year. Macks saw a commercial for them and immediately asked for me to get them becuase they have Thomas the Train on them, one of his favorites.

Pampers recently sent us a box of the new Pampers Easy Ups and to say Macks was excited to start wearing his new “underwear” was an understatement.

So we may not be ready to potty train just yet, but Macks is ready to start underwear training. And slowly but surely, he will get to the real thing. But in his time and doing it his way. Just as he’s always done.

Fall is in the air! While we had all intentions to make the most of this last official weekend of summer, it seems that fall wanted to make an early visit. The air was cool and crisp, and while we didn’t get to make it to the sand and the waves, we did make it out for some family fun at the park.

I’ve slowly started to transition my wardrobe for fall. My usual wardrobe for the season is a t-shirt and jeans. I love accessorizing with jackets. They can really pull any outfit together. I’ve been on the hunt for an affordable moto jacket. I love the edgy look that can look great with a pair of jeans and it can also help make a dress look more casual. I took a recent trip to my local JCPenney and they had so many moto jackets to choose from. With affordable prices and a large selection, I knew I would find something that I was comfortable wearing all season.

I found this Arizona Faux Leather Jacket from JCPenney and I can already tell you that this is going to be my fall staple. It’s soft and comfortable enough for me to run around after the kids, while still giving that look of being pulled together.

Adding some ankle boots and a bandana is an easy way to accessorize in minutes. I’m always looking for practical when I shop and this jacket is definitely all of that and more! Now if we can just get fall in here for good, so I can take this out of my closet more often!

Last month, on our journey home from my parents house, we stopped by my grandparents house in the Panhandle of Florida. We’ve been meaning to make the trip for years, but it’s not always worked out the way we’ve wanted to.

I was so happy that we were able to make it, not only to see my grandparents, but because my grandmother finally had the chance to give me all of the glass that she’s been saving for me.

When I was younger, I knew that my grandparents would travel a lot to glass show, but I never truly understood it more than that. It wasn’t until I was older and understood how precious and simply put; stunning, the glass was that I became more appreciative of it. My grandparents have since retired from selling glass, but my grandmother had a lot left over that she never sold. She knew how much I’d grown to love the glass, so she saved some for me in her shop.

I was like a little girl on Christmas morning as I walked into the shop. Shelves and shelves of gorgeous glass and she said I could have any of it. I knew which colors I had in mind and I wanted to complete a set from a few things she’s sent me in the past.

We packed it up and it was one of the first things that I did when I got home from our long drive. I had the chance to organize the glass in our china cabinet in our kitchen and it’s such a gorgeous site to see when I walk in everyday.

Now I can’t wait to use it!

That’s what makes me happy.

Now tell me something good. Something that’s made you happy. It can be big, it can be small, just something that has put a smile on your face.
